This page explains what happens to the email address you give us. That address is the only thing the site asks you for. A few technical details are recorded with it by the service that receives the form, described below under What we collect.

Who is responsible

Echoes Editions is a brand of Edit S.r.l.s., Via Paradigna 61, 43122 Parma, Italy — VAT / P. IVA 03140920343. Edit S.r.l.s. is the data controller.

What we collect

Your email address, your tick on the consent box, and the date and time you gave them. Stored alongside is the exact consent wording shown to you — our own text, kept so we can show what you agreed to.

The form is received and stored for us by Netlify, named below. Netlify records three further things automatically with every submission: the IP address the submission was sent from, the identifying string your browser sends about itself, and the address of the page it was sent from. We do not choose these and cannot switch them off. They are held with your record for as long as the record is held, and they go when it goes. Nothing else is stored: no account, no profile, no purchase history, and no tracking of you across this site or any other.

Why we collect it

To tell you when an edition is shown, and to send the editorial communications that accompany it. That is the only purpose.

Legal basis

Your consent, under Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR. You give it by ticking the box on the subscription form, and we record the exact wording you agreed to alongside your address.

No email has been sent to anyone on this list. Before any sending begins, we will write to you once to ask you to confirm, and only addresses that confirm will receive anything further. Until that step exists and you have taken it, your address is stored and nothing is done with it.

Who else sees it

The site is served by Netlify, Inc., which also receives the subscription form and stores the submissions for us. Netlify holds the data on our behalf as a data processor under Article 28 of the GDPR; it has no other use for it. There is no email platform, no marketing tool and no third-party list. No one else receives your address, and we neither sell nor share it.

Netlify is based in the United States and stores the submissions there, so your address leaves the European Economic Area. The transfer is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, which form part of our agreement with Netlify. You may request a copy of the safeguards covering the transfer by writing to info@echoeseditions.it.

If we later move the list to an email or customer platform, this page will name that provider before the move happens.

How long we keep it

Until you ask us to remove it, or — once sending has begun — after two years without any interaction with our emails, whichever comes first. After that the address is deleted. The two-year clock cannot start before the first email is sent, so until then the only thing that removes an address is your asking.

The technical details recorded by Netlify with your submission are part of that record and are deleted with it.

Your rights

Under Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR you may ask us to:

• tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy;
• correct it, if it is wrong;
• delete it;
• restrict or object to how we use it;
• transfer it to another provider.

You can withdraw your consent at any time, with no consequence other than that we stop writing to you. Every email we send will carry an unsubscribe link, and one click will be enough; until sending begins, writing to us is the way. Write to info@echoeseditions.it to exercise any of these rights.

If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may lodge a complaint with the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. Nothing is stored on your device.
